After having her whole world turned upside down, she was understandably a little unsure of her new surroundings at first, but she has taken everything in stride and remained the sweetest soul. Martha is the kind of companion who is simply happy to be near her people. She enjoys attention but isn’t pushy about it, and she’s perfectly content to spend the day lounging nearby. She is reliably house-trained, comfortable being left alone, and doesn’t need a crate. At night, she quietly sleeps on her bed next to her foster mom. She also enjoys leisurely walks, rides beautifully in the car, and gets along well with other dogs. She even had a wonderful time at the groomer for her recent glam day!

Martha’s biggest goal right now is getting back to a healthier weight. She was clearly very well loved—and very well fed—by her previous person, so she has a few extra pounds to lose. Otherwise, she has a clean bill of health and is ready to start her next chapter. 

Martha doesn’t need much to be happy: a soft bed, a leisurely stroll, an adventure in the car, and someone to remind her that she is safe and loved. Martha would do well with a family who appreciates a relaxed companion and can offer love and reassurance. She does well with calm children, 7+ or younger children who understand how to be gentle with a senior dog.
