Loudon

Age: 8 yr

Weight: 95 lb

Meet Loudon, aka, Mo Mo! 🐾

If you’re looking for a Golden Retriever puppy, Loudon would like to respectfully suggest that sounds exhausting.

At 8 years old, Loudon has perfected the art of being the ideal companion. He has the wisdom of an old soul, the independence of a dog who knows exactly who he is, and just enough silliness to keep you laughing.

Loudon is fully house trained, doesn’t require a crate, and can be left home alone without issue. He’s trustworthy, easygoing, and perfectly capable of entertaining himself while you’re away. He’s not afraid to take a long snooze while you’re away at work!

One of his favorite hobbies is playing with toys—and not just any toys. Loudon knows many of his toys by name and enjoys showing off his impressive toy knowledge. He’s also famous for his quirky habit of “roobing” on furniture, which is every bit as adorable as it sounds.  When he’s ready to relax, Loudon enjoys being brushed, making grooming a wonderful bonding time with his people.

Treats are another passion of his. In fact, Loudon firmly believes most life decisions can be improved with the addition of a snack. His love of treats may have helped him on an impressive wellness journey—this handsome guy has already shed 20 pounds and is feeling better than ever! His favorite snack is surprisingly cantaloupe and eggs☺️

Most of the time, Loudon is a laid-back gentleman. But mention the magic word—“WALK?”—and suddenly age is just a number. He’ll light up with excitement and be ready to head out the door before you’ve found your shoes.  And don’t keep him waiting too long—if you’re not moving fast enough, he’ll let out a bark or two to remind you that it’s time to go! Once he’s outside, though, he’s an absolute joy to walk. Loudon has wonderful leash manners, loves to take his time sniffing the world around him, and enjoys exploring at an easy, relaxed pace.

Loudon has a beautiful golden coat, a heart-melting smile, and expressive eyes that always seem to be asking important questions like, “Is that for me?” and “Are we walking now?”

Loudon’s Ideal Home 🏡

Loudon is looking for an adult-only home where he can be the center of attention as the only pet. While he is a wonderful companion, he thrives with a structured, attentive owner who is willing to learn and respect his communication style.

Loudon is incredibly good at telling you what he wants. When he’s in the mood for affection, he’ll happily come over, lean against your legs, or gently paw at you to ask for pets. He’s equally honest when he’s ready for some space and will communicate when he’d rather be left alone.

It’s important that you respect this boundary. Because of this, Loudon would do best with someone who appreciates canine body language and is committed to continuing his desensitization work while respecting his boundaries.

His ideal adopter will be patient, observant, and willing to build trust by listening to the cues he so clearly provides. In return, Loudon offers a relationship built on mutual respect, understanding, and companionship.

When he’s not supervising his humans, Loudon enjoys one of his favorite jobs: neighborhood squirrel patrol. His dream home includes a window, porch, or fenced yard where he can keep a watchful eye on local squirrel activity and ensure everything is running smoothly.

Loudon has already mastered the hard parts of life. Now he’s just looking for someone to enjoy it with. ❤️🐾
