Isla

Age: 8 yrs

Weight: 54 lbs

Isla is a super sweet girl! She loves to relax with you, but she has discovered with her foster that she likes walks and playtime with other dogs too.  At 8 years old she still has the energy and agility of a young dog.  She walks well on a leash and is easily trained.

She does not get along with cats.  Given her propensity for chasing squirrels and birds, small pets of any species are not a good match.   Small children (approximately 10 and younger) scare her, and she barks at them.  During a visit, she does settle down and eventually ignores them, but it is probably best that she go to a home with older children.

A home with other dogs would be fine for her as long as at least one of the other dogs likes to play, otherwise she’ll torment them trying to get them to play -- she’s ready to have fun!   When home alone she is very well behaved, usually sleeping, and can be trusted to roam free while you’re gone.  She will willingly nap in a crate, but it’s not necessary.   Her ideal home would have someone home during most of the day, but she is adaptable.

She is a typical goofy golden retriever who can happily be a couch potato or a playmate but mostly a loving companion who will always be by your side!
