Meet Roo, a very special little puppy with quite a story. The only one of his nine siblings to survive, Roo has shown from the beginning that he is resilient, determined, and full of life. Today, he is the cutest, happiest boy and is thriving in his foster home.

Roo is everything you would want from a puppy. He is curious, super inquisitive, playful, and very quick to learn. He loves being around people and wants to know what everyone is doing. He has kept his crate clean since he was just six weeks old and is already mostly house trained, which is pretty impressive for such a young guy.

Roo loves following his older foster siblings around and learning from them. He enjoys their company and would do very well in a home with another friendly dog who can continue to show him the ropes. He is also incredibly sweet and affectionate and gives some of the very best puppy kisses.

As Roo has grown, so has his personality. He has definitely found his voice and isn’t shy about letting you know when he wants or needs something, but he isn’t an overly vocal puppy. He’s a smart little guy with opinions who has figured out how to communicate them! He is also eager to learn and responds well to the routines and guidance of his foster home.

Roo’s activity level can vary from racing full speed around the backyard to happily curling up on the couch with one of his humans or canine friends. He definitely enjoys his puppy playtime, but seems equally happy (and sometimes even happier!) snuggling up next to someone for a nice long nap. Roo has a wonderful mix of playful puppy energy and an affectionate, cuddly side.

Roo is also likely to stay on the smaller side. Both his mom and dad were around 35 pounds, and Roo is expected to be somewhere in that range when fully grown.

Roo’s ideal family will understand that he is still a puppy and will continue giving him the training, structure, socialization, and love he needs as he grows. A home with another friendly dog would be a great fit, especially since Roo enjoys the companionship of his foster siblings and learns from them. Roo is in his “baby shark” phase so he would do best in a home with older children.  Most importantly, Roo is looking for a family who wants him to be part of their everyday life, because that is exactly where Roo wants to be.

After such a difficult beginning, Roo has proven just how much personality, affection, and spirit can fit into one little puppy. He is sweet, funny, smart, curious, cuddly, and full of personality. Roo is ready for the next chapter of his story, this time with a family of his very own.

Roo is available to applicants whose applications were received on or before August 1, 2026.
