Roddy

Weight: 78 lb

Roddy is available to applicants with applications submitted on or before 5/19/26.

Roddy is a 4½-year-old Golden Retriever who's always ready for whatever adventure the day brings. This handsome guy is equal parts playful sidekick and affectionate best friend. Whether it's a game of fetch, a spirited round of tug-of-war, or splashing through the sprinkler on a warm day, Roddy is happiest when he's having fun with his people or four-legged friends. He loves going for walks and has shown himself to be non-reactive to the cats, bunnies, and squirrels he's encountered along the way. However, the fosters do not have cats in the home so we are unsure how he would react.

A true social butterfly, Roddy has never met a stranger. He's eager to make new friends and gets along with every person and dog he's met. He’s friendly with children of all ages, though he'd be best matched with older kids or active adults while he continues working on channeling his excitement into good manners.

One of Roddy's favorite things in the world is simply being with his people. He's incredibly affectionate and thrives on attention, belly rubs, and quality time with his family. He’d also make a great pal for another playful dog. Like many Goldens, he's also highly food-motivated and has never met a snack he didn't like. You'll want to keep an eye on unattended plates and countertops, but his enthusiasm for treats makes training both easy and rewarding.

Roddy is looking for an active family that will include him in everyday adventures, embrace his playful spirit, continue helping him polish his manners, and make plenty of time for walks, games, and snuggles. In return, he'll offer endless loyalty, laughter, and the unconditional love that Golden Retrievers do best.

Roddy is available to applicants with applications submitted on or before 5/19/26.
