Reef

Age: 11 wk

Weight: 14 lb

Reef is an 11-week-old, 14 lb mixed breed puppy with a big personality and an even bigger love for other dogs. He came into rescue with his mom and littermates and has been raised in a home environment, giving him a great start learning how to interact, play, and communicate like a dog.

Reef truly comes alive around other dogs. He loves to play, wrestle, and follow their lead, and he would thrive in a home with a confident, friendly canine companion. Having another dog in the home will not only help him burn off his puppy energy, but also continue to build his confidence and social skills.

He is a confident, curious, and playful puppy who enjoys being part of the action. Reef is smart and very engaged with his surroundings, making him a fun and rewarding pup for a family who is ready to continue his training and development.

Like all young puppies, Reef is still learning his manners. He is working on handling and redirection and is continuing to learn that being interrupted or asked to give something up leads to positive outcomes. At times, he can be a bit opinionated when he is very focused on something, so he will do best with an adopter who understands puppy behavior and is committed to using positive reinforcement and consistent guidance.

Reef is already settling nicely into a routine. He is comfortable crated for a few hours during the day, especially when another dog is nearby, and he sleeps in a crate next to the bed at night. He may wake once, typically around 3:00 AM, for a quick potty break. His house training is progressing well—he has only had a couple of accidents and has begun scratching at the door to signal when he needs to go out.

Reef would do best in a home with another dog, a family experienced with puppies or prepared to continue training, and a calm, consistent environment. Because he is still learning gentle manners, a home with older children or no young children is recommended.

Reef is a happy, social, and energetic puppy who, with continued guidance, will grow into a wonderful companion. He is looking for a home that will embrace his playful nature and help him continue to learn and thrive.
