Prince is a true gentleman with a heart full of love! Prince is a sweet, affectionate boy who has impressed his foster mom with his calm nature, good manners, and easygoing personality. In fact, she says he’s one of the nicest dogs she’s ever fostered!

Prince is trustworthy in the home and can comfortably stay uncrated for extended periods. He knows some commands, usually comes when called, and enjoys being close to his people. Whether it’s belly rubs, relaxing nearby, or simply spending time together, Prince thrives on human companionship. He also has excellent house manners. He stays off furniture and beds, will lie down when asked, and understands the stay command. He has no food allergies and eats well, making him an easy and enjoyable companion to have at home.

One of Prince’s favorite activities is chasing and retrieving tennis balls! He’ll happily bring the ball back and even nudge it closer to you with his nose for another throw. A fenced yard would make him especially happy so he can enjoy playtime safely.

Prince walks well overall, though he can get a little excited and pull at the beginning of walks. His foster mom believes he may have previously used a retractable leash, so with a little consistency and leash training, he’ll continue improving quickly.

This lovable boy is wonderfully tolerant and easy to handle. He’s comfortable being touched, takes medications without any fuss, and enjoys attention of all kinds. He’s also not much of a barker, usually only giving a soft alert when someone arrives.

Prince has met several dogs and has done well sharing space and playing alongside them. Since he was the only dog in his previous home, he may need a little adjustment period if living with another dog, but he has shown positive social behavior. His experience with cats is unknown.

During storms, Prince can become anxious, but he handles it fairly well. A ThunderShirt helps him relax, and although he may pace for a bit, he settles down nicely afterward.

Prince’s ideal home would be one with a fenced yard (preferably a 6-foot fence), plenty of tennis balls and playtime, people who enjoy walks and companionship, school-aged children or older, and someone home often.

Above all, Prince simply wants to be loved and included. He’s ready to become a loyal companion and promises to be the wonderful boy everyone says he is.
