Meet Leonardo: Your Golden Dream Dog

Leonardo is the kind of pup who believes every person is a friend he hasn’t met yet. Whether it’s greeting you at the door with a wagging tail, curling up at your feet after a long day, or trotting proudly beside you on a walk, he’s happiest when he’s by your side.

Leonardo is a playful spirit with high energy and an active mind. He loves fetch, enjoys water play, and will happily flop down for belly rubs after a good romp. He’s still a puppy, so he’s learning his manners, but his eagerness to please makes training fun for all. He is potty trained and knows “sit”, “shake”, “down”, and is working hard on “stay.”

He sleeps peacefully all night in his crate and has been trustworthy left out in the home for a few hours at a time. We do call him our “canine vacuum,” because he will gladly pick up any items that are left behind. Socks and any kind of fruit from the fruit basket are his current favorites to snatch quickly. He is every bit of a fun-loving puppy with quick streaks of mischievous testing. He is working hard at enjoying car rides and has made some great progress recently with tummy troubles during shorter trips. 

Leonardo would thrive in an active home where he can get plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and attention. A fenced yard would be a dream for his zoomies, and an energetic canine companion is a plus, but not required. He previously was not successful with cats in the home. His current foster family has kids of all ages and he adores all of them no matter their size. He’s happiest when included in every activity from sitting under your feet making coffee in the morning to his duties of tucking kiddos into bed at night.
