Kent

Age: 4 mo

Weight: 16 lb

Kent is available to applicants whose applications were received on or before Nov 30, 2025.

Kent is estimated to be about 16 weeks old and a golden retriever puppy who currently weighs 16lbs.  He is UTD on his shots and is waiting to be neutered.  He has limited sight, but is otherwise healthy.

Kent is visually impaired, as he has haziness in both eyes. The haziness in concenrated on the center of his left eye and the bottom of his right eye. As a result, he can see better out of his right eye. The haziness mostly affects his depth perception and ability to see things up close.

However, you would never be able to tell because he is your typical crazy puppy!  He gets around well and will avoid the coffee table and other large furniture, but has trouble seeing toys or treats until he smells them.  He has been to a specialist who confirmed that his eyesight is not treatable, but will not get worse either.

Because of his sight Kent likes to be physically close when walking around.  He will curl around your legs like a cat while you stand or walk. Kent would do best in a home with children over the age of 5 who are ok with a large dog bumping into them.

Kent does great with other dogs who are comfortable with a clingy puppy.  He loves to rough house with his foster siblings but is also content to play by himself.  He likes to play fetch and will turn around to watch where you throw his toy, then listen to where it lands.

Kent is going through puppy training in his foster home.  He is learning potty training, crate training, recall, sit, and down, and is doing very well!  He will need continued training to ensure he grows up to be a well mannered dog.  Because he has trouble seeing treats,  Kent would do best in a home that has experience with positive reinforcement training or is wanting to learn.

Overall Kent is a wonderful little puppy who is going to grow into a big beautiful dog.  He is looking for a home who wants to go through puppyhood and will continue his training.  He can go with or without another dog, and will be ok in a home with people above the age of 5 who are agile enough to avoid tripping over him.

Kent is a total lovebug and ready for his forever family!
