Karley

Age: 1 yr

Weight: 40 lb

Karley is available to applicants whose applications were received on or before Feb. 19, 2026.

Karley spent the first year of her life as a 100% outdoor dog, until a compassionate neighbor stepped in before an ice storm and helped her find a new start. Now about a year old, she’s discovering the joys of indoor life and is ready for a family of her own.

Karley is full of youthful, happy energy and would thrive with plenty of exercise or an active dog friend to romp with. After a good play session, she’s a champion napper. She’d do especially well with an older, confident dog who won’t mind her frequent invitations to wrestle and play.

A recent vet exam showed mild to moderate hip dysplasia in one hip, but it doesn’t slow her down or appear to cause discomfort. She plays, runs, and bounces just like any young dog.

Karley’s ideal home would include:

  • Older kids or teens who won’t be overwhelmed by her playful enthusiasm

  • A dog friend who enjoys energetic play (optional, but a big plus!)

  • A patient adopter ready to help her continue learning good house manners and is home more often than not

She’s doing well on leash walks and is learning to appreciate her crate. She sleeps easily through the night in her cozy space. Housebreaking is still in progress, so her new family should be ready for a little training as she settles in. She’s curious but respectful around cats and doesn’t chase them.

Karley loves chew toys, is very treat-motivated, and is eager to please — all great qualities for training. She tends to pick a favorite person in the household and becomes their loyal little shadow. Her concern for the location of her chosen human means that a fenced yard isn’t really necessary.

If you’re looking for a fun, loving companion who will bring energy, joy, and devotion to your home, Karley might be the perfect match.
