Jefferson is a gentle, affectionate pup with a calm soul and a playful heart. At just over a year old, this Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix is already showing what a loyal and loving family companion he can be.

He loves carrying around his favorite stuffed rhino and monkey, and he’s always up for a game of fetch—his absolute favorite way to bond. Jefferson thrives on affection and connection, and once he knows you’re his person (or his fetch partner), he blossoms with joy.

While Jefferson is generally happy and easygoing, he’s not a big fan of change. It takes him a few days to adjust to a new environment, but with patience and a bit of love, he settles in beautifully and becomes his usual mellow, sweet self.

He adores kids and gets along well with other dogs. Cats? No problem—once properly introduced, he coexists just fine. He even tolerates the squirrels darting along the back fence with surprising grace.

Jefferson is not a fan of being crated, but he’s proven time and again that he doesn’t need to be. When left home alone, he’s perfectly well-behaved—he’s never chewed on furniture, never touched a child’s toy or clothing, and never caused any damage. He just waits patiently for his humans to come back.

Walking is one of his favorite daily activities, and he’s learning not to pull on the leash—he’s eager to learn and responsive to gentle guidance. Car rides are another highlight for him; he settles in quickly and relaxes.

At night, he sleeps soundly—often belly-up with his legs in the air—splitting time between his bed and the cool tile floors.

Jefferson is on a special GI-friendly diet that has done wonders for his health, and he’s thriving with consistent care and routine.
