My name is Gillian, but my foster parents sometimes call me Gilly or Gilly Bean!  I lived my life on a farm, but I’m learning that indoor life is pretty awesome!  The resident dog has shown me what toys are all about and boy do I love tennis balls!  I’m not the best at playing fetch, but I’m learning!

Gillian is a sweet 5 year old (DOB 6/2020) girl who recently retired from breeding.  She currently weighs 90lbs, but is on a diet to trim down 10-15lbs.  Despite being “fluffy,” this girl loves to run (in small spurts of course) around the yard and is learning how to play fetch.  Recently retired from breeding, Gilly spent all of her life around other dogs so she gets along well with pretty much everyone and everything!  

After living her life on a rural farm, Gilly is adjusting very well to indoor life!  She learned quickly from the resident dog to go to the door when she needs to potty so she has had zero indoor accidents!  Gilly does love being outside, wandering around the yard and taking in all the smells so a fenced in yard is preferred so she can explore on her own time, but certainly not required.  She does well on a leash, doesn’t pull, but will “zig zag" if on a long leash, especially if something catches her interest.

Gilly was a bit nervous at first with so many life changes and was certainly a “Velcro” dog, but she has gained comfort and confidence in the last few weeks and while she still doesn’t want to miss out on anything, she will watch from another room, but doesn’t jump up to follow.  She has been a great car traveler, other than needing some help in and out, but I’m sure shedding a few pounds will help her mobility 😊

Gilly is crate trained and sleeps through the night, but does best in the crate when she’s tired.  She will get a bit anxious in the crate if she hasn’t had enough exercise.  She has been left out in the house and will do well as long as there aren’t tempting goodies around like shoes!

After years of raising kids, this girl is looking for a retirement full of tennis balls, comfy beds and lots of love! Apply to meet this fluffy snuggle bug with so much love to share!
