Gavin

Age: 4 yr

Weight: 85 lb

Gavin is available to applicants whose applications were received on or before Oct 20, 2025.

Gavin is a sweet, gentle pup  gaining confidence by the day.  Having lived most of his life on a farm, he can be frightened by first time encounters, such as the vacuum, TV and car rides. However, with continued exposure and reassurance, he quickly learns that he is safe.

With gentle coaxing, he has quickly mastered stairs, and other new challenges. He has quickly learned to be an indoor dog, alerting to be let outside to potty.

His favorite activity is laying next to his foster dad as he works from home. Gavin also enjoys walks, he will walk by your side when shown confident direction. He pays no attention to other dogs on walks, though very alert to squirrels, and will pull to reach a squirrel. Due to this interest, he has not been introduced to the foster’s rabbit.

Gavin enjoys his foster brother and has started to become playful as his confidence grows, learning that he enjoys dog beds and toys. Gavin does not do well when put in a crate but is trusted to be left out for up to 4 hours when the fosters are not at home. He has not shown any chewing behaviour at our home, and sleeps on the floor in the foster’s room at night. He loves affection from the foster’s 3 kids (ages 12, 13, 15) and would do well either with or without another dog in the home.. He will thrive in a house where he can be around his people as much as possible.

Gavin is available to applicants whose applications were received on or before Oct 20, 2025.
