Gabe
Age: 5-6 yr
Weight: 50 lb
Hi! My name is Gabe, and I am so excited to meet you! My fosters say I am one of the sweetest, most loving boys you could ever hope to bring home. I love nothing more than being close to my people and sneaking in lots of kisses.
I get along great with other dogs and even cats, and I walk like a dream on the leash—no pulling here! I’m housebroken once I settle into my routine, and I’ve already learned that being a good boy in the house gets me lots of praise. When I’m not outside playing or exploring, I’m perfectly happy to curl up on my favorite chair or right at your feet while you relax.
I’m not a fan of being crated, but you don’t need to worry—if you keep the trash tucked away (because, let’s be honest, it’s full of interesting smells!), I can be trusted to have free roam of the house.
I love everyone I meet, kids included, but because of some history with resource guarding, I’d do best in a home without young children. My fosters say my resource guarding is very manageable with positive reinforcement and good boundaries. I also want to be honest—if I’m ever not feeling well or in pain, I may give a little warning to let you know, so I’d do best with someone who understands to be gentle and patient with me if I’m under the weather.
I came into rescue in rough shape with some painful ear infections, but with gentle care and patience, I’ve learned that people can be trusted and that life can be really, really good. I would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time, because I love to be with my people and have so much love to give in return.
If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will always be by your side (and keep you laughing with my silly, sweet ways), I might be the perfect boy for you. I can’t wait to meet you and start our forever adventure together!
