Draper is a handsome, fun-loving young Golden Retriever with a big personality, a sweet heart, and an impressive set of skills. He is smart, eager to engage, and has completed professional puppy training at PetSmart. Draper knows many commands, including sit, down, sleep, drop it, stand, hug, spin, bring it, and take it. He even has some charming, playful responses that show just how much personality he has packed into his golden self.

Draper is very social and has been well loved by the children in his neighborhood. Kids ranging in age from 4 to 16 enjoyed playing with him, and he became a favorite among them. He previously lived with teenage boys and would do well in a home that enjoys including their dog in family life, playtime, and daily activity. Draper is still young, so he will thrive with a family that can provide structure, consistency, exercise, and continued reinforcement of the good training foundation he already has.

Like many young Goldens, Draper loves food and is very interested in what people are eating. His future family should be prepared to manage this with clear boundaries, supervision around meals, and positive reinforcement. He is not being naughty; he is simply a young, food-motivated dog who will benefit from consistency and patience. The good news is that food motivation can also be a great tool for continued training.

The ideal home for Draper would be an active family or individual who wants a smart, affectionate, playful companion and is ready to keep his mind and body busy. A home with children who understand how to respectfully interact with dogs could be a wonderful fit, especially since Draper has enjoyed being around kids in the past. A securely fenced yard (currently in a yard with an aluminum 4’ high, ⅝” picket fence) would also be helpful so he has a safe place to run, play, and burn off some of his youthful energy. 

Draper would be a wonderful addition to a home that is looking for more than just a beautiful Golden face. He brings joy, intelligence, affection, and plenty of entertainment. With continued guidance, love, and an active lifestyle, Draper has all the makings of a loyal and delightful family companion.
