This lovely gentleman spent his first nine years on a farm with several dog siblings. When his owners became too ill to care for their pets and made the heartbreaking decision to surrender them to NRGRR, Donnelly had to get used to a whole new life. Luckily, his calm, sweet nature shines through, and he quickly adapted to his foster home and charmed everyone he met. Now he’s ready to enjoy his tenth year in a loving forever home.

Donnelly is housebroken and grew up with a dog door but does fine without one. He has never been crated and is completely trustworthy in the house. After his big life change, he does get a little nervous about being left alone, so a person who’s home much of the time and/or a resident dog would be a big plus to help him adjust. He is very relaxed and submissive with his foster mom’s dogs, displaying great patience and even taking orders from a corgi less than half his size.

Donnelly’s exercise needs are minimal: a short walk or a few rounds of chasing a tennis ball, and he’s all set. He does like a longer ramble on the leash occasionally, and his leash manners are impeccable when he’s out and about. He also sits patiently to have his soft, fluffy doodle coat brushed and trimmed—he’s just so happy to have your attention. And when you’re busy, he will settle down for a nap where he can keep an eye on you—although he might jump up and stand in front of you if he thinks you’re leaving without giving him a big hug!
