Clementine
Age: 12 yr
Weight: 65 lb
Clementine is fully house-trained, walks nicely on leash, rides great in the car, and can be left home alone without issue. She loves her daily walks (and may even try to convince you to go a little farther!), though her walks are best kept shorter due to arthritis, which doesn’t slow her spirit but does mean she benefits from a slower pace and a comfy place to rest. Because of her arthritis, Clementine would do best in a home with few or no stairs. Otherwise, she’s happy to relax and quietly observe the world around her. She’s a true “velcro” dog who enjoys being near her people and brings a calm, loving presence to any home.
She does well with other calm, respectful dogs and would be happy with a low-energy canine companion who understands her boundaries. Clementine may gently “grumble” to let another dog know to respect her space or belongings as they get to know each other, but she has never shown any concerning behavior and does not guard anything from humans.
Clementine adores people of all ages and has done wonderfully with both young children (loves babies) and older kids, as long as they respect her space and do not climb or lay on her. She loves affection and snuggles
Because of her tendency to chase cats which previously led to an injury, Clementine has a permanent limp and should not live in a home with cats.
Her ideal home would be a calm, lower-energy household. She would thrive with a consistent routine, soft places to rest, and a home that’s mindful of her arthritis and mobility (rugs on slick floors are a big help!).
Clementine is proof that senior dogs have so much love left to give. She’s the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal, gentle, and easygoing best friend.
Clementine is available as a senior to senior adoption.
