Cinderella’s Story

Cinderella wasn’t found at a ball—she was found alone, less than a year old, wandering the streets. She was picked up as a stray, her body soaked in urine, the signs of long neglect painfully clear. But even then, her eyes sparkled with something stronger than sorrow: hope.

From the moment she was rescued, Cinderella showed nothing but love. Her tail wagged at every kind word. She nuzzled every hand, hungry not just for food, but for affection. Underneath her sweet demeanor, though, lay a body fighting battles she couldn’t explain.

Veterinary exams revealed a heartbreaking list of congenital conditions. Cinderella was born with subaortic stenosis (SAS)—a dangerous heart defect. She also has bilateral ectopic ureters and other abnormalities in her urinary tract that caused recurring urinary tract infections and mild nephropathy (kidney damage). The constant leaking made her uncomfortable and vulnerable, and created severe skin issues. But not once did she stop smiling.

Despite everything, Cinderella remains a joyful, vibrant soul. She greets each new day with a wag, a wiggle, and boundless enthusiasm. Whether it’s a kind stranger, a wiggly toy, or a sunny spot on the carpet, she finds something to celebrate.

Cinderella has already had three surgeries to correct the ectopic ureters. But her road to recovery will be long. Cinderella will need lifelong medications, specialized care, and possibly additional surgical intervention to give her the comfort she’s never known—but she’s worth every ounce of effort.

Because every dog deserves a chance to live happily ever after.

Cinderella’s surgeries alone have cost over $15,000
