Buttons
Age: 2 yr
Weight: 50 lbs
Buttons may have had a ruff start — found under 2 feet of mud after Hurricane Helene and then moved to a trailer where he lived outside in a run, but you’d never know it from his gentle, loving personality. Buttons is as submissive and soft-natured as they come, always eager to please and happiest when he’s close to his people or doggy siblings.
He gets along wonderfully with dogs big and small, and he’s even passed the cat test with flying colors. He’s also kid-approved, making him the perfect family pup. Hunting? Nope. Snuggles? Absolutely!
He’s working hard on his potty training and is doing great with a belly band. Even better? No #2 accidents at all! Crates aren’t his favorite, but he’s proven trustworthy left out. On walks, he’s great on a leash for the most part, though every now and then (about 1 in 10 strolls) his hound nose kicks in and he’ll catch a scent, which may cause him to pull a little. A fence isn’t required for him, but being a hound, he’d definitely thrive with some land (at least a backyard) to sniff and explore.
Buttons is also discovering the joys of being a “regular dog.” He rides well in the car (already wondering which drive-thru you’ll take him through next), and he’s recently learned that toys are actually pretty fun! Even better is that he’s learned how glorious a Cookout tray is!
After weathering storms both literal and figurative, Buttons is ready for his forever family. With his gentle soul, waggy tail, and endless snuggles to give, he’s guaranteed to be the missing piece of the puzzle that will button up your family perfectly.
