Albania Gilda is an international dog and will incur the international dog adoption fee. She is available to applicants whose applications were received on or before Aug 6, 2026.

Gilda is an affectionate lady looking for a kind and caring home! She had a rough start to her life in Albania, but she will bring loyalty and love to her forever home. She does not mind living with other dogs, but she is not one to engage in play with another dog (or really even toys!). Her current foster home has a 3.5 yr old golden who she lives alongside easily. It’s unknown how she would live with children, but she is calm and receptive to pets from the 4- and 7-year-old neighbors at her current foster home.

She is low-energy around the house, but when she gets moving on her walks, she vrooms right along at a brisk pace, which is great because she needs daily exercise as a part of her weight-loss journey. She is well behaved on a leash, and she does not pull or lunge (only showing occasional mild interest in squirrels). She will need to continue to lose weight to support her joints and health long-term, and she would probably be best fit for a home with carpet.

She sleeps comfortably in her crate at night, but she is house-trained and can be trusted in the house uncrated when she is left home alone. She is very well-mannered with very few training needs!

Because she’s had a rocky few recent years, she will take some time to decompress in new environments and may take some time to come out of her shell, but she is loving and loyal and happy just to be near humans who care for her! She will make a great addition to your family!
