Agatha
Age: 10 yr
Weight: 60 lb
Hi – I’m Agatha. I’m a 10-year-old Golden Lab/Basset Hound mix, which, if you ask me, is an adorable combination. I have the sweet Labrador nature with a low-slung Basset body. Apparently, I attract quite a bit of attention when I’m out and about. I just assume everyone has excellent taste.
I’m an exceptionally easy girl to have around. I’m house-trained, I don’t need a crate when you leave, and I’m not much of a barker. I’m perfectly fine hanging out at home by myself for a while, although if you work a full day, I’d really appreciate someone stopping by for a midday walk.
And I do enjoy a good walk. I’m very well behaved on a leash and have a happy little trot that makes my ears bounce as I go. I’m a lower-energy girl, so once we get home, I’m more than happy to settle in on the couch with you. Actually, being with my person is one of my favorite things.
It may take me a little while to decide you’re my person. I was a bit hesitant when I first came to my foster home. But once I felt comfortable, that was that. Now I like to follow my foster mom from room to room just to see what she’s doing. When she’s away, I happily keep her daughter company instead. I’m adaptable that way. I mostly just like having someone to love.
I get along with other dogs and I’m good with kids. I’m not much of a toy girl, although every once in a while I’ll get a burst of enthusiasm and enjoy a little game of chase around the house. I don’t guard my food or toys, and you can pretty much fuss with me however you need to. Paws, ears, brushing...I’m an agreeable sort.
At bedtime, I would be delighted to sleep in your bed. Very delighted. But if that’s not how things work at your house, I can handle that too.
I have one working eye, but it really doesn’t affect how I go about my life. I go up and down stairs, get myself into the car, enjoy my walks, and keep tabs on what’s happening around me just fine.
I don’t have a long list of requirements for my new home. Want to go for a walk? I’m coming. Working in the garden? I’ll hang out in the yard with you. Quiet afternoon on the couch? Scoot over. I’m gentle, adaptable, and very good at simply being by your side.
I’ve had ten years to figure out what really matters. Turns out, it’s having a person.
Maybe you’re mine.
