Adoption
As an adopter, you will provide the happy ending for one of our rescued Goldens. The adoption process starts by calling our information line or attending an adopt-a-thon, filling out an adoption application and working with one of our volunteers to find possible matches. You will then meet with foster dogs and their foster families. Once you and the dog decide that a match is made, you will fill out a contract and pay the adoption fees, which help cover our medical costs. Finally, you will love and cherish your new family member. You may choose to send us updates and pictures, attend our reunions and even volunteer to help other Goldens find their "forever" families.
Here is a typical outline of events for adopting a Golden from NRGRR:
You call the NRGRR Information Line (919-676-7144) and leave a message.
An Information Line Volunteer responds and e-mails the adoption application to you.
You fill out the adoption application and e-mail it back to the Information Line Volunteer.
You submit the $25 application fee via PayPal or mail a check to the P.O. Box.
Upon approval of the application the Information Line Volunteer reviews a list of
available Goldens with you.
Foster families make appointments with you to meet Goldens that may be a good match.
