Adoption Info
As an adopter, you will provide the happy ending for one of our rescued dogs. The adoption process starts by calling our information line or attending an adoptathon event, filling out an adoption application and working with one of our volunteers to find possible matches. Adoptathons are held the first and third Saturdays every month.
You will then meet with foster dogs and their foster families. Once you and the dog decide that a match is made, you will fill out a contract and pay the adoption fees, which help cover our medical costs.
Finally, you will love and cherish your new family member. You may choose to send us updates and pictures, attend our reunions and even volunteer to help other goldens find their "forever" families.
There are four ways to apply to adopt a Neuse River golden retriever (Please pick just ONE!):
- Fill out an online application and pay the $30 application fee. An Information Line volunteer will contact you within a few days.
- Download the application, fill it out, save it and email it to NRGRRapplications@hotmail.com.

Depending on the volume of applications received processing may take up to seven (7) days after the application and processing fee are received.
Upon approval of the application the Information Line volunteer will review a list of available dogs with you and will help get you in touch with the fosters.
Foster families make appointments with you to meet goldens that may be a good match.

| 6 weeks - 6 months | $350 | Adoption fees are required to help cover medical expenses. The adoption fee includes a physical exam by our vet, spay/neuter, shots/vaccines, a heartworm test and heartworm treatment if necessary. |
